  • This sort of thing can give so much confidence to a trans person who needs it. I needed it for a long time. I still need it. I haven’t socially transitioned yet, but I’ve taken a lot of steps to do so. I have a mental checklist of people who are going to accept me and who are not, because I’m scared of losing all my relationships. Every single relationship that I can be confident in drops my stress level. Every step that somebody can bring me into is one less step that I have to face alone. Gender transition is one of the most difficult things that people do socially. It’s not necessarily for the faint of heart, but oftentimes that’s exactly who has to do it. I struggle with being who I want to be and being confident in that basically everyday.

  • That doesn’t really have much to do with domestic stuff. I mean, every military does fucked up stuff, but at the end of the day, they’re made of people and have their families. Even myself.

As a service member, I educated myself on tactics, philosophy, diplomacy, economics, culture, mental health, geography, and many other topics to understand how and why military force is used. I know it’s not for democracy à la Helldivers. It’s used to keep the trade going and to conduct politics through harder power.

You might be an isolationist and that’s fine. But don’t insult the intelligence of myself who dealt with all sorts of philosophical dilemma and educated herself and others around her

Service members know how to complain and think for themselves. And if something doesn’t seem right, they will clarify the heck out of it and push back. It’s not the Russian military
