No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are people using the "þ" character?English
1218·9 days agoWhich is weird, because it took exactly 2 seconds to find out that þ equals th by reading an entire sentence, and thereafter one can read the text just about as good as normal text.
People who struggle with þ maybe has other reading issues 🤷Huh, þ apparently autotranslates to th when I try it. That’s funny

1·9 days agoI’m not American so I don’t know the tools ICE uses and if social listening or whatever it is called is one of those tools. But if your reasoning for opening the box and the reasoning for opening the person is the same… well it’s the same. Different outcomes, same reason

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Historians never talk about the "good old days".English
1·12 days agoMaybe not, it’s a thing within global governance. You whip out the HDI or Gini coefficient and suddenly countries scramble to increase in its rankings
But then I have to stop at an uneven time and that’s worse
Lazy Lentil Soup.
I like it.
This is indeed an unpopular opinion

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•people who tried HelloFresh, what was your experience with them?English
9·16 days agoHelloFresh in my country was very good actually. Easy to follow instructions, ingredients just enough for the recipes with no leftovers.
Only negative were small portions. You never felt really full after eating dinner, and it was pretty expensive.edit: oh and the food was often very tasty as well. Basic but good

Cooking? Doesn’t matter if you’re off on your measurements by some degree.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Uncircumcised penis owners, did you ever wish you were circumcised?English
1147·19 days agoDon’t mutilate your kid. If there’s a medical reason go ahead, otherwise leave it be.
Your son can’t put it back if you remove it, but he can remove it if you leave it. Let it be his choice over his body.
