Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"Fans"who don’t want Bruce Wayne to have "normal" friends or see Peter Parker financially stable don't want to see these character grow
6·8 days agoI mean, I don’t really enjoy characters I like changing overtime. They are nor “people” they are just stories, I don’t necessarily want the best for them. I just want them to keep providing the same interesting stories that hooked me on them to begin with.
If they change is hit or miss, and they may loose the thing I like about them.

5·8 days agoI guess after no way home that stopped. I don’t know much about next movie but my guess would be a more “street level solitary” spiderman.
In Spain we do. 1st of September All Saints Day.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Did it really used to be common for guys to go to a bar every night like in Cheers or The Simpsons?
12·12 days agoI walk by some neighborhood bars, that are cheap and still some people go everyday like the Simpsons.
Videogames are better. I’ve come to recognize some of the “local drunks” that are there every day, they do be like Barney from the Simpsons. It seems a little depressing looking at them destroying themselves with booze.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What could I do about a very noisy coworker?
7·18 days agoThat’s actually very clever. I don’t really have reasons to go to his office (I haven’t go once in five years). But some other people do, maybe I can convince them to do it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What could I do about a very noisy coworker?
25·18 days agoGathering more coworkers into it seems the more reasonable approach. I don’t know what could actually be done. As NoiseGuy department is actually HR and they are the ones who sent him here because they didn’t want to have him around. But having more people complaining together will obviously increase the chances of something being done.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What could I do about a very noisy coworker?
3·18 days agoThree years more or less. I started working here during the pandemic. And for the first couple of years I didn’t noticed that much. We used to have a deaf coworker that also did a lot of noise, but because that’s how he could communicate, so it really didn’t bother anyone as he wasn’t doing it on purpose to bother. But since that noises disappear from the office I think I have noticed this more, or maybe he is doing it more, I couldn’t tell.

5·25 days agoI suppose you can enforce additional politics into your store. Like forcing all apps being open source (like f-droid).
But everything will keep to be apple/google approved, at least until linux phone becomes more mainstream.
Until then I’m moving away from native app development, and focusing more on webapps and progressive apps.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict?
3·27 days agoConflict between groups of rich people are less common than between poor people or poor vs rich people.
My examples are europe, that was at constant war until most countries reached a high living standard. Even with Israel, many countries that were at war with it have stopped since they became richer.
So my solution is making everyone in palestine rich (israel is already rich enough), and I’m pretty sure that the conflict will start to disappear.
If you also remove religion from the region, both Islam and Judaism, and the support for atheism increase will be one less irrational conflict drive and one less differentiating fact between the two groups.
If you look at it invasion to a rich country is far less common than invasion to a poor country. So I think is something that may work.
Not only for Israel Palestine. Is a solution for most armed conflicts I think. Let’s make the word rich so there’s no economical differences between countries, and everyone will have a high standard of living and let’s see if conflict get reduced.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Ad companies should just cut out the middle man and pay me to watch their ads
5·29 days agoI have always had the idea that advertisement had little to do with promoting a product, but with owning the media.
If you are the source of income of a business you can have a say in what that business do.
