I kinda like the idea of it being Santa instead of Satan 😁

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Suggest me a secure chat platform for my familyEnglish
13·1 year agoThis is what my family (and a few friends) use. We have been using it for a while now because it just works. Also, the kids have never complained about using Conversations, or about using it only for us (like if you have that one family member who won’t leave SMS behind - we’re that guy, I guess), and we can make as many channels as we need for the house, the kids, with each kid individually, for our MTG cards, with our couple of friends that use it, etc…
I don’t personally do the hosting, so I can’t speak to that. That’s the hubby’s thing
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the most recurring theme/element in your nightmares?English
7·1 year agoThe thing that gets me a lot of the time is falling up. I would trip while running or riding a bike, and lose contact with the ground. Soon I’m beyond any trees that I could grab, and just falling. Up. Until it wakes me up.
I’ve had nightmares about it since I was a kid (I don’t know when “old” starts, but I’m probably closer to that than to being a kid. Well, in age - I’m still pretty immature 😅)

5·1 year agoI have had quite a few nightmares about not being able to find my kids during zombie apocalypses.
Same basic thing tho: the scariest part wasn’t the setting or scenario, it was not being able to save my kids from harm.

I forgot about trimming. It’s not too late, but dammit I forgot all about it!
I read that ghost was federating, I think.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there a way to list all the subscribed lemmys. Like in reddit we could make a list of all subreddit, so while making a new account we could subscribe easily to all the previous account.English
2·1 year agoThat’s at least part of what is exported as JSON from the settings menu (afaik, you get there from your regular settings menu in the web interface and it’s at the very bottom)

I think you can then import to the new account?

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Anyone else have this happen after grabbing a coffee?English
1·1 year agoYou’re not wrong! That is behavior that should be addressed - much moreso at food-related businesses than like, the hardware store, but is just good-human behavior when you interact with others. (Not everyone does that tho)
And if it is repeatedly happening at one place, it might just be someone working there who isn’t doing the right thing. (Or the soap there is potent and not in a way that you like.) If it seems like it’s happening everywhere, it could be more of a sensitive sniffer thing… Which isn’t really a Big Deal, it just is. Like the reason we are expected to wear less cologne/perfume in some spaces, to account for others’ sensitivity or allergy. As a courtesy

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Anyone else have this happen after grabbing a coffee?English
5·1 year agoBut not everyone sticks to that! (Also why the OP suggested that it means they haven’t done it)
It requires a human to do a thing. It doesn’t happen automatically.

5·1 year ago- Pet an animal friend, or a friend’s animal, or a friend. Probably ask the friend first, or maybe don’t.
- Don’t be afraid to hug your mom/kid/cousin/friend.
- If animals and friends elude you, find a stuffed animal/monster/alien/person that will let you cuddle if for no other reason than because it has no choice.
- Watch cartoons or sitcoms or romcoms, and deliver some good feels into your brain.
- Look for eyebleach (not literally bleaching your eyes!), and try to put the terrible thing behind you.
Good luck!

Costco has these giant bags of dried fruit - I really love the sliced dry mangoes, but we also get apricots, strawberries, pineapple … this time he picked up craisins and dried plums that are just this side of being prunes. They also sell big tubs of little tomatoes that are meant to stay on the counter which makes it easier to grab than the nutty buddies or jelly beans!
But also we eat nutty buddies and jelly beans.

For good luck, of course! 💩
Edit to add: yes, he probably does
We did 😄 How was the big day??
Instead, I built a wall and spent 3 hours on cable cleanup. ಠ_ಠ
The carpal tunnel is getting pretty bad, so shouldn’t be pushing through it for a little.
You’re right, you should not push through it. Baby that shit! The wrist hurt disease is no joke. As I’m sure you already know.
It really sucked when I couldn’t do my favorite things for around a year. Mostly video games and pc stuff, but also knitting and crochet, and even zipping my own pants.
ಠ_ಠTake care of yourself! (Also, beautiful pics!)

Tight-rolled jeans with rolled-down socks.
Also, aforementioned backwards clothes - even trained my Grandma to reply “jump, jump?” 😁
